David H. Bailey is an LDS mathematician, perhaps best known for his work on the “spigot algorithm” for pi. He has written rather extensively on the relationship between science and LDS theology.

That’s an interesting collection. Here’s one quote that made me think:
“You’re forced to the conclusion that God was trying to mislead us and test our faith –and I have trouble with that kind of conjecture.”

He’s talking here about evolution, but I was thinking of it in terms of how people say that God had to maintain a balance so that the evidence for the Book of Mormon isn’t compelling, so that you have a choice whether to believe. That seems disingenuous of God in the same way.
